Senior Graphic Designer
We have an exciting opportunity to join our creative team as a Senior Graphic Designer at Kramer Madison. In this hands-on role, you’ll design projects from concept to completion for print collateral, direct mail, packaging, logos and branding, and online assets for our clients. The candidate will need to be well-organized, strategic-thinking, detail-oriented, and a great communicator. Must have a portfolio demonstrating strong design principles with an aptitude for creating fresh, innovative interpretations within tight brand systems/guidelines.
Since collaboration is a very important part of our team, this is an onsite position only.

Responsibilities:
- Design: Works with internal teams to understand the strategy and identify the parameters necessary to design innovative, effective, and creative solutions. Recognizes project creativity/profitability tradeoffs. Self-manages design projects, including setting priorities and meeting deadlines. Participates in client meetings as needed.
- Branding: Understands client corporate identity and branding guidelines and technical restraints. Helps to manage the client’s brand through design integrity and consistency.
- Leadership & Department Support: Contributes with ongoing improvement of departmental systems and processes. Advocates for and cultivates an environment that supports creativity, an open exchange of ideas and problem solving, and continued learning.
- Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of design experience
- BA in Graphic Design or related degree/education
- Advanced proficiency in current Mac versions of Adobe Creative Suite software, (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat) and Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
- Deep knowledge in the print process, front-end web design experience, and simple coding skills all huge pluses
- Strong presentation skills to articulate strategy and design concepts to clients and internal teams
- Ability to iterate and evolve concepts with constructive feedback
- Manage and balance multiple jobs and projects daily, meets timelines and expectations, while measuring and improving efficiency
- An online portfolio and/or work samples that demonstrates a passion for great design and attention to detail required

Accounting Associate
Kramer Madison is seeking a highly motivated, dependable professional to join our accounting team in Madison, WI. This position will be responsible for managing accounts payable and performing various accounting and HR tasks. Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, have the ability to multi-task, and problem solve.

Primary Objective/Scope of Position:
- Oversee accounts payable duties such as inputting, coding, and verifying all vendor invoices for payment, ensuring expenditures are charged to appropriate accounts
- Prepare weekly check runs, ACH, and credit card payments
- Review and resolve any bill discrepancies
- Reconcile vendor statements & respond to vendor inquiries
- Prepare monthly sales tax report
- Ensure filing deadlines are met for all tax filings, including personal property taxes and sales and use tax, along with business licenses
- Maintain 1099 information and reporting
- Perform monthly reconciliation of employee credit card expenses to company credit card statements.
- Backup accounts receivable/cash application
- Monitor collections of past due accounts
- Oversee material inventory management
- Manage the fixed asset ledger
- Support recruiting of new employees -maintain job posts, schedule, and conduct interviews
- Conduct orientations and employee onboarding and new hire paperwork
- Maintain employee records and information
- General knowledge of human resources, employment laws, and procedures
- Maintain employee records, including time, attendance, and paid time off records
- Manage employee benefits enrollment and COBRA paperwork
- Evaluate and maintain employee benefits partners and plans
- Ensure all office equipment is operational including computer hardware, software, phones, copiers, and printers
- Answer phones (backup)
- Perform other general accounting and office duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- Requires 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel

- Strong organizational ability

Printing Job Estimator/Billing Specialist
Kramer Madison is looking for a Printing Job Estimator/Billing Specialist to develop cost estimates for account representatives/jobs from routine to complex and assist in purchasing of materials or outsourcing in the manufacture of printed projects. Once job is completed, role will examine, evaluate, and finalize invoice for services rendered. Interacts daily with production, managers, and vendors to successfully complete estimates and close jobs.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates as defined by our clients’ requirements by examining specifications, layouts, equipment, and pricing to determine the most cost-effective production method.
- Communicate and negotiate with vendors on behalf of the company to obtain competitive pricing and scheduling to meet our customer’s needs.
- Review daily production/time reports confirming accurate data collection.
- Invoice completed jobs by:
- Comparing estimate to actual costs.
- Verify all materials are posted to job prior to invoicing.
- Review vendor invoices to ensure accuracy based on vendor quote.
- Analyze standards in estimating system and update when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of current and new technologies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with outside vendors and industry experts.
- Develop solutions and produce top quality results through continuous improvement.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Technical or vocational degree in graphic arts or related field or equivalent printing experience.
- Experience with sheetfed/digital presses, bindery, and letter shop/direct mail in a high-volume environment preferred.
- Familiarity with variety of paper substrates and understanding of paper terminology and pricing is a plus.
- Excellent math skills are essential with strong attention to detail.
- Organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make quick, informed, and accurate decisions as projects develop.
- Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with company specific software a plus.
- Possess ability to quickly come up to speed on company specific software systems and new technologies.

Responsibilities:
- Experience operating any bindery equipment, specifically cutters, stitchers, folders, or die-cutters.
- Ensure the completion of jobs meeting quality and quantity requirements
- Troubleshoot problems with equipment and make repairs as needed
- Completes and maintains proper documentation on projects
- Performs preventative maintenance to keep machines clean, safe, and in good working order
- Maintain organized work area and help in other production departments as needed
- Ability to read and understand detailed job tickets
- Setup jobs according to customer specifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Prior bindery experience in the print industry Is required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior commercial print shop experience
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all personnel
- Good verbal and written communication skills to follow job instructions
- Lift / move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending is required throughout the shift
