Senior Graphic Designer

We have an exciting opportunity to join our creative team as a Senior Graphic Designer at Kramer Madison. In this role, you’ll design projects from concept to completion for print collateral, direct mail, packaging, logos and branding, and online creative assets for our clients. The candidate will need to be well-organized, strategic-thinking, detail-oriented, and a great communicator. This is not a remote role.

Responsibilities:

  • Design: Works with internal teams to understand the strategy and identify the parameters necessary to design innovative, effective, and creative solutions. Creates and delivers strategically designed comps for presentations. Recognizes project creativity/profitability tradeoffs. Self-manages design projects, including setting priorities and meeting deadlines. Participates in client meetings as needed.
  • Branding: Understands client corporate identity and branding guidelines and technical restraints. Helps to manage the client’s brand through design integrity and consistency.
  • Production: Prepares finished art files and works with internal prepress team to produce print-ready assets.
  • Department Support: Assists with ongoing improvement of departmental systems and processes. Helps cultivate a fun work environment through positive attitude and teamwork.
  • Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of related experience in graphic design; agency background a plus.
  • BA in Graphic Design or related degree/education.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Strong presentation skills to articulate strategy and design concepts to clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to iterate and evolve concepts with constructive feedback.
  • Organized with the ability to manage numerous projects, comfortable managing short deadlines/turn-around times, reprioritizing projects, etc.
  • An online portfolio and/or work samples that demonstrates a passion for great design and attention to detail

Print Production/Mailing Coordinator

Kramer Madison is seeking a Print Production/Mailing Coordinator to join our team. The Print Production/Mailing Coordinator provides project execution support to the client delivery teams, including project management, production status tracking, and production schedule coordination. The ideal candidate will be reliable, honest, hardworking problem solver with a do whatever it takes to get the job done attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the print production activities including estimating, scheduling, project management, vendor management, pre-press, printing/personalization and lettershop services.
  • Determine supplies needed to complete production jobs and process orders with suppliers
  • Coordinate the use of outside vendors to complete all or a portion of production-related projects
  • Coordinate projects that may include versioning, data segmentation, multiple mail drops, multi-lingual translations and more
  • Organize and stage fulfillment projects
  • Provide regular updates to the client service delivery team in relation to project milestones.
  • Prepare various address databases for validation in USPS approved CASS software
  • Process bulk address uploads for UPS or FedEx shipping software
  • Additional projects, tasks and/or assignments as needed to support sales and production teams

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2 years of print production, planning or estimating experience.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree, strongly preferred in a graphics, printing related program
  • Requires a solid understanding of offset and digital printing
  • Must have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good project management skills
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all personnel
  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of lettershop, mailing and the postal service regulations is a plus
  • Accountability and initiative are expected, as well as a “can-do” approach
  • Experience executing projects within tight deadlines.

Bindery Operator – First Shift

We are currently seeking to build our team by adding a First Shift Bindery Operator. The Bindery Operator is a key player in the company, acting as the final touch, producing finished materials that meet customer specifications and Kramer Madison’s high-quality standards.  We are seeking an Individual who is self-motivated, enjoys a variety of tasks and has experience operating bindery equipment.  We offer a competitive benefit package, Including 401(k) plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience operating bindery equipment: folders, cutters, stitchers, die-cutters etc.
  • Ensure the completion of jobs meeting quality and quantity requirements
  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment and make repairs as needed
  • Completes and maintains proper documentation on projects
  • Performs preventative maintenance to keep machines clean, safe and in good working order
  • Maintain organized work area and help in other production departments as needed
  • Ability to read and understand detailed job tickets
  • Setup jobs according to customer specifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Prior bindery experience in the print industry Is required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior commercial print shop experience
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all personnel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to follow job instructions
  • Lift / move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending is required throughout the shift
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality required
  • Ability to use computer, Including UPS/FedEx shipping software Is a plus
