Something is Brewing in Waunakee — Kramer Madison Teams Up with Lone Girl Brewing to Celebrate Their Summer Anniversaries

Release of Anniversary Ale Commemorates 85th and 5th Birthdays

MADISON, WI, June 1, 2021 — Kramer Madison, a design-driven marketing company and full-service commercial print, direct mail, promotional product, and fulfillment powerhouse, announced a collaboration with The Lone Girl Brewing Company on the package design for a limited-edition Anniversary Ale.

Celebrating 85 years of business, Kramer Madison was looking for a unique way to commemorate this significant milestone. They didn’t need to look far. Community neighbor, The Lone Girl, happened to be working on an event of their own, marking five years since they opened their doors at 114 East Main Street in Waunakee.

“Lone Girl’s story really resonated with us, I thought it was sweet. The two owners have seven children. Six boys — and the Lone Girl,” shares Brooke Barney, Marketing and Creative Services Director, Kramer Madison. “We are a woman owned company, and our philosophies meshed. Our shared values include building relationships, putting the client first and making them a part of our family while delivering outstanding products with exceptional customer service. It was the perfect project and partnership.”

“Craft brewing is our passion and each of our releases has a story. Our Golden Sour Anniversary Ale follows that tradition,” commented John Russell, Brewmaster at the Lone Girl. “It started with the idea of aging and fermenting this commemorative beer in wood, which is a common fifth-year anniversary gift (if you follow those guidelines). Wanting it to be a unique and special kettle sour, I decided to make two beers, one that was soured and fermented with our house yeast, and the other using a yeast that produces a lot of esters that interact well with hops. Then I mixed the two together. I was going to put it in the wood barrel, but in the end, I liked the bright and citrusy flavors so much that I just left it as is. It’s perfect for a summer drink on the Lone Girl Patio.”

“You had me at beer,” joked Joe Bauernhuber, Associate Creative Director, Kramer Madison. “Finding creative opportunities like this makes designing fun. I’m always up for a challenge and immediately got to work, sketching out several conceptual directions from bold handset typography to vintage designs, finally landing on a revised Lone Girl silhouette set against a gradient pattern of shimmering fireworks. I can’t wait to see (and taste) the final product.”

The commemorative Golden Sour Anniversary Ale will be released on Thursday, June 10, and will be available for purchase at The Lone Girl on tap and to-go in 16 oz. four-packs.
